Dr. Seda Topgül completed her undergraduate, master's (2011), and doctoral (2014) education at the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, Eskişehir Anadolu University. She spent the 2010-2011 academic year at the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2015, she was appointed as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations at Tokat Gaziosmanpaşa University, marking her entry into academic life. From May 2015 to February 2020, she held various administrative roles, including Head of the Department of Management and Work Psychology, Head of the Department of Management and Work Sociology, Foreign Student Coordinator at the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Member of the Quality Board of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Deputy Head of the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations, and Head of the Department of Labor Economics and Industrial Relations.
Dr. Topgül has been involved in migration and cultural integration monitoring efforts with the Tokat Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism and participated in meetings organized by the Tokat Provincial Directorate of Migration Management, where she evaluated the university’s contributions to migration studies. She also took part in social integration initiatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and in the social cooperative projects of the Tokat Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Additionally, Dr. Topgül is a member of scientific organizations such as The Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World (OWSD).
Her research focuses on Social Policy and Social Services, Disadvantaged Groups, Gender Studies, Labor and Social Security Law, and Work Psychology.
Dr. Topgül has authored four books related to her areas of expertise: Attitudes Towards Disabled Workers in the Labor Market of Tokat Province (2019), Behavioral Research in Working Life (2019), Work-Life Balance: Applications to Achieve Balance (2022), and Poverty and Social Services with a Social Policy Perspective (2022).
Since 2020, Dr. Topgül has been serving at the Department of Social Work, Faculty of Social and Human Sciences, Akdeniz University, continuing her research on disadvantaged groups, poverty and social services, and migration and social services.
