Music is intertwined with the individual in every aspect of his or her life. There are some psychological factors such as anxiety, stress, and depression that affect performance and achievement level in musical development of the individual (Kenny, 2005; Kenny, Davis & Oetes, 2004; Sinden, 1999; Steptoe, 2001). At the same time, musical behavior of the individual may also be considered to have some effects on his own psychological state (Aydın & Yıldız, 2014; Brodsky, 1996; Doğan & Şenturan, 2012; Maratos, Gold & Wang, 2008; Rosanty, 2014; Üstün, 2016). As in every fields of profession, psychological states such as stress, anxiety, and depression that can be experienced by the people can have negative effects on the education and training of teacher candidates. From this point of view, the identification of the factors that may affect or may be related to the psychological states of the teacher candidates during the teacher training process and directing them with the right approaches will ensure that they will grow psychologically healthier individuals. This is important from the point of view of their being better teachers and raising the quality of education. Based on this point of view, the purpose of this work is to reveal the relationship between the psychological states of the teacher candidates and their musical behaviors such as musical history, instrument playing and participation in musical concerts.
