Abstract

Kumluca-Finike Plain, which is covered by high mountained Taurus zone, is one of the widest plain area in southwestern Anatolia. The geologic, tectonic and sedimentologic factors have an important role in the formation of the plain. By the effects of paleotectonic and neotectonic deformations, lots of faults cutting rock units has occured in the region. However, there are not so many geological studies about the earthquakes and active faults in the study area and its vicinity. By this study, with the help of diciplines like geology, tectonic, archaeology and remote sensing, it has been tried to discover the tectonic features of the main fault lines effecting the formation of Kumluca-Finike Plain and the seismicity of the region.
