Özet

In the Republic of Turkey, the impact of migration on the society has started to increase gradually and the adaptation and adaptation processes of foreign nationals to the society vary. The problems experienced in this adaptation process are reflected in all levels of education and training. In this study, it is aimed to determine the opinions of social studies teachers about the problems faced by foreign students (Antalya Konyaaltı example) and to find solutions to these problems. The research was designed in accordance with the phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research designs. In the 2022-2023 academic year, data were collected through a semi-structured interview form with (38) social studies teachers working in (15) private and public secondary schools in Konyaaltı district of Antalya province and the data were analyzed by descriptive analysis method. In the study, it was determined that foreign students had language problems, communication problems, social adaptation problems, psychological problems and problems related to the social studies curriculum. In order to solve the problems, it was suggested to add new topics to the social studies curriculum to include foreign students and resident (Turkish) students, to create adaptation classes for foreign students, and to include inclusive in-service trainings for teachers and teacher candidates.
