In this paper, the Fermat collocation method is performed to solve the predator-prey system with
one discrete delay. This method is based on the matrix forms of the Fermat polynomials and their
derivatives with the evenly spaced collocation points. The presented method converts the predator-prey
system with one discrete delay to an algebraic matrix equation which is a set of algebraic equations with
the unknown Fermat coefficients. In addition, the accuracy of the approximate solution is checked and an
error estimation method and a residual improved method are presented. Moreover, an example problem is
given to illustrate the efficiency of the method. The application of the method and the graphics are obtained
by using MATLAB.
