Özet

Natural radioactivity levels of U-238, Th-232, and K-40 were determined using gamma-ray spectrometry. Contents of several components were obtained by photoactivation analysis. Sand samples were irradiated with 18 MeV bremsstrahlung photons from a clinical electron linear accelerator (cLINAC). After irradiation, the gamma-ray spectra of the samples were obtained using a high-purity germanium (HPGe) detector. Spectra were analyzed by computer software. Correlation between the natural radioactivity levels and contents of several components were determined by appropriate statistical calculations.
