Microwave-based imaging systems have been used in many areas of industry for many years. The amount of corrosion on the columns is the most crucial indicator of the building's chance of survival during an earthquake. For this purpose, non-destructive testing methods are needed, which are widely used and will help in the decision to take cores, which in a sense means taking a biopsy from the building. Within the scope of this study, an estimation was made based on the scattering parameters obtained in varying frequency ranges depending on the increase in corrosion under a narrowed ideal scenario. The phase difference for 1 mm corrosion is 8.272°, and for 0.1 mm corrosion it is 5.21°. In conclusion according to the phase difference results, it can be predicted that corrosion testing of many structures can be carried out quickly, in a cost-effective manner, and with the minimum need for a workforce.
