Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2025 (SCI-Expanded)
This study evaluated the seasonal distribution of natural (226Ra, 232Th, 40K) and artificial (137Cs) radionuclides in sediments from Boğaçay, assessing the associated radiological risks in the region. Results indicate a significant decrease in both natural and artificial radioactivity levels during high-flow periods. The influence of seasonal hydrological changes on radionuclide accumulation and distribution was demonstrated, providing novel and original data for an ecologically sensitive coastal river system. These findings offer valuable insights for environmental radioactivity monitoring and regional risk management.
