Bu araştırmanın amacı; basketbol ve futbol hakemlerinin karşılaştıkları sportmenlik dışı davranışlarla ilgili görüşlerinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya 2007–2008 sezonunda Türkiye basketbol ve futbol liglerinde maç yöneten 192 basketbol ve 129 futbol olmak üzere toplam 321 adet gönüllü hakem katılmıştır. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak “Kişisel Bilgi ve Görüş Formu” kullanılmıştır.
Araştırma sonucunda, hakemlerin sportmenlik dışı davranışlarla ilgili görüşlerine göre sportmenlik dışı davranışların yaygın olduğu ve yerleşim birimine, ev sahibi deplasman takımına, ligdeki puan durumuna, yapılan maç türüne, skor durumuna, maçın ve sezonun bölümlerine, oyuncuların oynadığı pozisyona ve oyuncuların tecrübelerine göre farklılaştığı söylenebilir.

The purpose of this research is to examine the perceptions of basketball and football referees’ about unsportsmanlike behaviors that they experienced. There are 192 basketball, 129 soccer and totally 321 referees officiating in Turkey’s 1st, 2nd and 3rd league of basketball and soccer in the season of 2007-2008, voluntarily participated in this study. “Personal Information and Opinion Form” were used in the study as the data-collection tools.
At the end of this research, according to the views of referees; we can say that unsportsmanlike behaviors are common and differs according to the settlements, home and visitor teams, the status of the league points, the type of the match, the score of the match, parts of the match and parts of the season, the positions of players' and the experience of players.
