This study aims to analyze troubadour poetry, one of the most important musical and literary traditions of medieval Europe, through the works of Bernart de Ventadorn. The troubadour tradition emerged in Southern France in the late 11th century and developed through the combination of music and poetry around themes such as courtly love (fin’amor), ideals of chivalry, depictions of nature, melancholy and hopeless love. Ventadorn is regarded as one of the most important representatives of this tradition, and his 19 surviving songs offer the most effective examples of troubadour poetry. In this study, Ventadorn’s works are analyzed thematically and his song Can Vei La Lauzeta Mover is subjected to a content analysis. The study is based on a literature review and textual analysis. First, the historical context and the main themes of troubadour poetry are discussed, and then the analysis of Ventadorn’s works reveals how these themes are treated. An in-depth analysis of the song Can Vei La Lauzeta Mover shows how the poet blends elements such as love, nature and melancholy. The findings of the study reveal that the troubadour tradition was not limited to medieval Europe, but also influenced later literary and musical traditions. Ventadorn’s poetry not only inspired the trouvère, minnesänger and trovatore traditions of his time, but also played an important role in the development of modern lyric poetry. The song Can Vei La Lauzeta Mover has been considered one of the most powerful lyrical narratives of the period, especially with its themes of the unattainability of love and melancholy. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the historical and literary importance of troubadour poetry and sheds light on the artistic legacy of Ventadorn’s works.
