Effects of Global climate change on waters and fisheries

Global climate change is defined as long-term changes in the earth's atmosphere and

ecosystems. The main causes of these changes are increases in greenhouse gas emissions caused

by natural processes and human activities. The natural greenhouse effect ensures that gases

such as water vapour, carbon dioxide (CO₂), methane (CH₄) in the atmosphere retain the energy

from the sun and keep the earth at a temperate temperature. However, since the density of

greenhouse gases in the atmosphere increases rapidly as a result of human activities (such as

fossil fuel use, industrialisation, reduction of forests), this effect is strengthened and leads to

overheating of the earth.

The first effect of global warming is the warming of surface waters and the absorption of more

sunlight by the sea due to melting glaciers. Since oxygen dissolves less in increasing water

temperature, various negative effects are experienced in water and aquatic products. For this

reason, in this article, the negativities experienced in the waters and therefore in the living

organisms living in the waters are examined and solutions are tried to be suggested.
