Structural and economical analysis of trout farms in Erzurum city. In this study, the data from the year of 1998 gathered by surveys applying exact counting method to 21 farms, registered to Agricultural Administration of Erzurum, were used. Of these Trout farms, 17 (81%) are located between valleys, 3 (14.2%) at piedmout, and 1 (4.8%) in open area. 9 of them (42.9%) use river water, 7 (33.3%) spring water, and 5 (23.8%) both river water and spring water.Average active capital of the farms was 21.478.539.000 TL. The greatest portion of active capital farms was the one for building ponds (38.4%). The average of management expenses was 2,107.281,000 TL. The greatest portion of the expenses was feed (50.9%). In these 21 farms investigated, the efficiency of working force was low, as average 10.85 kg/day and 11 of these farms were on profit, while the others were not.
