One of the most important decisions that affect people's lives is profession; but young people cannot grasp the importance of this issue and they can usually make the wrong choice about their profession. The purpose of this study is, determining young people's trends about tourism sector. Other purpose is explaining why they choose this profession and comparing these reasons with their trends. So, this research can be named as a case study. In this sense, questionnaires were applied to Akdeniz University's tourism students (associate degree, undergraduate, graduate) between March 1 - April 15, 2010. 350 questionnaires were delivered and 307 of them were taken. For the questionnaire, we used Sariisik, Akova, & Kaya's (2007) and Unur, Duman, & Tepeci's (2004) questionnaire forms. It includes 61 items with demographic questions. As a result of factor analysis, eight dimensions were found and the analyzing results of t-test show that sex is an efficient reason for choosing tourism as a profession. On the other hand there are five dimensions were found and the analyzing results of t-test show that family members are effective who got tourism training of young people's trends about tourism sector.
