Abstract
In this study, 3-Glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GLYMO), Methyl triethoxy silane (MTEOS) were hydrolyzed and then polymerized with Aluminium-sec-butoxide, Al(OBus)(3) that is complexed with Ethyl acetoacetate (HacacOEt). The complexation of Aluminium-sec-butoxide with Ethyl acetoacetate was investigated with Fourier Transform Infared Spectroscopy (FT-IR). The storage stability of the obtained sot was determined with viscosity measurements. Thermal behaviour of the hybrid gel was analysed with Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The TGA results showed that about 40% of the obtained hybrid polymer is inorganic and 60% is organic.
