Abstract

In this research, some physical characteristics and uses of the down fibers obtained from hair goats raised in some provinces of Turkey were examined. For the general provinces, diameter of fiber, rate of medulated fiber, number of crimps, and natural and real length of fiber were 16.5 +/- 0.07 mu. 0.0%, 9.3 +/- 0.11, 2.4 +/- 0.35 cm and 4.4 +/- 0.47 cm respectively. According to the findings, the down fibers of hair goats can be used in products such as hats, scarves, gloves and socks.
