Digital Health Literacy and Quality of Life Among Older Adults

Özet
This cross-sectional study examined digital health literacy and quality of life in 348 older adults in Türkiye, using the e-Health Literacy Scale and WHOQOL-OLD. Data were analyzed with t-tests, ANOVA, and hierarchical regression. Digital health literacy was moderate (item mean 3.25/5) and differed by age, gender, and smart device use, but not marital status. It correlated positively with quality of life, highest for Social Participation and Autonomy, and explained an additional 18.9% of variance beyond socio-demographic characteristics. As an environmental resource, it may support autonomy and social connectedness, informing gerontological social work and digital inclusion policy.
