Abstract

Throughout history architecture has been the concrete expression of the relations between nature and culture. The historical depth of Anatolia provides substantial evidence concerning architectural history. The cultural histories of Anatolia, the Mediterranean Basin and Eurasia are profoundly affected by the relations between nomadic and sedentary communities. The role of the nomadic communities in cultural and architectural history has not received enough attention because in general historiography is produced from the perspectives of sedentary cultures.
