Abstract

Artichoke cultivation in Turkey is based on asexually propagated cultivars such as 'Sakiz' and 'Bayrampasa'. The use of seed-propagated cultivars began almost five years ago. This is the first time that a study has tested seed propagated cultivars in our country. The main aim of this paper was to research growing possibilities of different seed propagated artichoke cultivars in Turkey. For this purpose, 'Opal F1', 'A-109', 'Green Globe', 'A-106' and 'Sakiz' artichoke cultivars were tested in Antalya ecologic conditions during 2007-2008 growing period.
