ABSTRACT
The nursing process is a scientifically planned tool for the individual to maintain, promote andimprovethe level of health. Nurse students use nursing process to solve problems while giving care to patients in the clinical setting. In addition to the differences in the teaching methods of both national and international nursing schools, the teaching of all the courses in the nursing curriculum is changing in parallel with the teaching of the nursing processes. The aim of the research is to examine nursing students views about teaching nursing process. The universe comprised of first, second and third grade nursing students at Akdeniz University Nursing Faculty. At the end of the semester exams, the aim and design of the research were explained after the final exam of a class. 28 students from the accepting students were selected randomly and the focus group interview was held. The sample group; a total of 28 students, 10 from the first class, 9 from the second class and 9 from the third class were formed. Semi-structured questions and interviews were conducted by researchers. One of the researchers was the manager of the focus group interview, and the other two researchers served as rapporteurs. After giving information to the volunteers about the subject and purpose of the research, their written consent was obtained.The students in each semester were divided into five groups and a total of 6 focus groups were interviewed.At the end of the research, the students found that the nursing process was considered as the building stone of the nursing. The students emphasized the importance of one-to-one study and laboratory practices with the instructor. Moreover, the fact that the number of students is high and the inadequacy of time and materials affects nursing process teaching.
