Aim: This study was designed to investigate the longitudinal and dynamic profile of leptin and its relationship with sex hormones including luteinizing hormone (LH), follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), estradiol (E-2) and testosterone (TTE) in neonatal 'minipuberty'. We also investigated the effects of leptin in the regulation of body weight gain and body mass index (BMI) in the first 3 months of life.
