We study incompressible strips (ISs) widths which is essential in occurring quantized Hall e®ect. We calculate the widths of integer quantized incompressible strips v= 1; 2 and also the width of fractional quantized incompressible strip v= 1/3. We investigate the widths of these strips at different magnetic fields with different Lande - g* factors and by applying different voltages to the gate. We show that, the fractional edge states are more fragile compared to the integer ones and the widths of these strips change with the shape of the gate as a result of the gate potential.
