Mobile television presents an interesting new media paradigm for scholarly investigation as a true convergence between telephone and television. The characteristics of mobile TV associated with a personal medium have critical implications on its growth potential. TV has often been regarded as a traditional family medium. But mobile TV is a service which allows cell phone users to watch television on their phones from a service provider in everywhere, everytime. Television data can be obtained either through an existing cellular network or a propriety network. The mobile TV industry recently opened up a new market for the content specifically tailored for mobile TVs. Mobile TV combines the two bestselling consumer products in history - TVs and mobile phones. The growing number of technological and commercial trials in Europe confirms the following qualities of Mobile TV as key user benefits: mobility and flexibility. The results of user trials state that interactivity will add significant value to mobile broadcast service offers.
