Sanat ile toplum arasındaki ilişkinin doğru biçimde gerçekleşmesinin temelinde, sanat olgusunun doğru tanınması yatmaktadır. Bunun gerçekleşebilmesinin yolu ise doğru sanat sınıflamasının yapılmasıdır. İnsanlık tarihi ile yaşıt olduğu söylenen sanatın sorgulanmaya başlaması, günümüzden 2500 yıl öncesine dayanmaktadır.Bilgi teorisinin yöntemleri ile gerçekleştirilen kategorik yaklaşımlar sanat olgusun içerisine “gelişme” ifadesini de sokmuştur. Sürekliliğin, gelişmeyi içeren bir sonucu ortaya çıkarmasını bekleyen bilim için “gelişme” ifadesi doğaldır. Sanat ise görme, sezme ve yaratma şeklinde gerçekleşmektedir. Bu çerçevede, bilimsel disiplin içinde kavranılan şey genel, sanatta ise kavranılan tamamen özel ve bireyseldir Sınıflandırma, sanatın kendisi ile değil, varoluş boyutu ile ilgilidir. Sanatın tanımı içerisindeki varoluş ifadesi, varetmeyi içermektedir. Varetme; devingen süreç içerisindeki insan ile ilişkilidir. İnsan bu süreç içinde yüksek benliğini varetmek amacıyla farklı yollar izlemektedir. Sınıflandırılması gereken Var Etme Yolları’dır. Bilgi teorisi çerçevesinde bir sınıflandırma ancak şöyle yapılabilir; (1) yüzeyde var etme, (2) hacimle var etme, (3) sesle var etme, (4) sözle var etme ve (5) bedenle var etme. We should accept that, since the ancient times there have been a big effort to understand and describe what the art is. But since Platon and Aristo, in spite of the changes in art in 2500 years period of time, it is a very big problem to continue on being conservative on using the same classifying method of the ancient times. This conservative mood should be left behind whish causes to evaluate and understand the crafts as an art matter and makes a bad effect on the general estethical values of the society. Especially the dominance of the degenerate culture in today’s Turkey is showing the necessity of building the definition and classification of the art again. Starting from this necessity, it’s been thought to descibe and classify the art matter as follows: Art is the existence of the high personality in another dimension. This existence happens in a period of time and by the help of an object. Art classification is; 1. To create on surface, 2. To create by using the volume (three dimensions), 3. To create by using the sounds, 4. To create by using the words, 5. To create by using the body. Key Words : Art, To Create, Clasification, Social, Environment.
