The effective and qualified fulfilment of health services by the hospitals is closely related to supporting the service by current information and technologies. The aim of this study is to determine the level and the quality of service by hospital practices. Therefore, the research is done in totally four hospitals which are randomly chosen among the public and private sector hospitals as two from Konya and two from Kayseri. The applied survey is done according to the level, usability and importance of information technologies and technology management among health employees and the perception of the quality of service by the patients. Accordingly, it is obvious that there is a 53.7% use of information technologies throughout the public and private hospitals. The patients in public hospitals assessed the quality of service as 67.6% whereas it is assessed as 76.2% by the patients in private hospitals. In addition, the importance of information technologies and technology management in private hospitals is higher when compared to that in public hospitals. Though, in general, it can be said that the managers and the employees of hospitals do not give the required support to information technologies and technology management in hospitals. Therefore, it would be to the point that especially public hospitals should focus on the studies to improve the quality of service. © International Economic Society.
