The purpose of this case study was to investigate curricular (within school) and extra-curricular (out-of-school) activities undertaken to develop students' environmental awareness. In-depth information was gathered from six middle-school students (three females and three males) and three science teachers (all females) through the use of a semi-structured interview Furthermore, selected classes and laboratories, and also school halls were observed by using an observation sheet. The interview transcripts and observation notes were subjected to content analysis. The results revealed that the students were not completely aware of their environment due to their lack of interest in environmental issues. The selected school for the study undertook various within and out-of school activities to increase students' awareness, such as tree planting, clean-ups, and re-using and re-cycling products.
