Abstract

In this study, we attempt to determine the dependence of activity concentration of natural (U-238, Th-232, K-40) and artificial (Cs-137) radionuclides on depth in soil samples from Antalya in Turkey. Soil samples were collected at different depths (0-10 cm, 10-30 cm, 30-50 cm, 50-70 cm, 70-100 cm and 100-200 cm). Each soil samples were counted by using a high purity Germanium detector (HpGe). For each soil sample, activity concentration, absorbed dose rate, radium equivalent activity, external and internal hazard index were calculated and compared with the published results.
