Palpitation is a common chief complaint among emergency department patients, and is often associated with a tachydysrhythmia. Tachydysrhythmia is classified as supraventricular tachycardia or ventricular tachycardia. Reentry in a normal or accessory pathway is one of the most frequently seen mechanisms explaining the tachydysrhythmia. In the present case, we report an unusual cause of atrioventricular paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia due to pseudoephedrine intake. (C) 2010 Elsevier Inc.
