This study was conducted to measure of elementary mathematics & science teachers candidates' attitudes towards environmental issues, awareness, behavior, and the level of environmental knowledge. As a result, students' environmental awareness has been determined as high, and the solution of environmental problems against practices have been ascertained as a positive attitude. However, students' environmental awareness and positive attitudes have been detected not to reflect to their behavior. Also, according to the results of studies conducted during the environmental knowledge test, it is found that 57% of students have very little knowledge of environmental issues, whereas 43% of them have average knowledge level. The obtained results have been revealing the necessity of inducement for taking more responsibility in environmental matters with both the social responsibility practices, as well as with the courses added to the curriculum.
