In this study, the effect of NaCl on antibiotic susceptibility of bacteria isolated from the intestine of rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) were studied. A total of 8 bacterial strains were recovered from the examined fish samples. 3 Aeromonas caviae, 4 Aeromonas hydrophila, 1 Aeromonas sobria, were identified. The susceptibility of the isolated strains to ampicillin, c. sulphonamides, flumequin, tetracycline and trimethoprim were made on Mueller-Hinton agar without and with the addition of 2% and 4% NaCl by using disc diffusion assays. It was determined that the zone diameters obtained for these antimicrobial agents including c. sulphonamides, flumequin, tetracycline and trimethoprim were changed according to the strains isolated in the study and NaCl concentrations. However, it was found that all the strains were resistance to ampicillin in the tests made on Mueller-Hinton agar prepared without NaCl and by adding 2% and 4% NaCl. Except two A. hydrophila strains, other strains showed beta-haemolytic activity and they also produced siderophore on the CAS agar plates.
