The supply of healthy and adequate drinking water is becoming important for all communities. In line with the health awareness, packaged water consumption shows an increasing trend. At the same time packaged water sector is developing rapidly all over the world. Also the reasons of this trend are important for public and private sector. Thus, it was aimed to analyze the socio-demographic factors affecting the packaged water (PET-bottled & carboy bottled) consumption decisions of the households in this study. For this aim, logit model was used and the surveyed data obtained from 965 households were evaluated in the Mediterranean Region, Turkey. Consumption of packaged water is increasing in the region as well as in the whole country. There are many reasons for this trend such as the concern on water-borne diseases, news related unhealthy tap water, and perception reliability of packaged water. According to the results of this study, the variables such as the mothers' employment status, head of the households' educational level, being in the self-employed group, the perception of reliability of tap water, the concern on water-borne diseases, news related to unhealthy tap water, perception reliability of packaged water and the income of the households (group 1: <333 (sic) and group 3:666-998 (sic)) were found in a correlation between the packaged water consumption of the households. It was found a positive statistical correlation between the variables such as the perception reliability of tap water, the concern on water-borne diseases, the news and the perception reliability of packaged water. On the other hand, the data showed that there was no positive correlation between packaged water consumption and the mothers' employment status, head of the households' educational level and employment status.
