We report an unusual case of vertebral arteriovenous fistula and its endovascular treatment with coils. The reason for the fistula was the insertion of a Swan-Ganz catheter, which has been described in only two papers previously. The fistula was occluded with multiple coils and patency of the vertebral artery was preserved. Although the feeding vertebral artery can generally be saved with balloon embolization of vertebral arteriovenous fistulas, it has never previously been reported with coils.
