Aneurysm of the radial artery is rare and is usually seen after penetrating traumas. The radial artery is most affected at the distal part where it lies superficially. Iatrogenic injuries, such as catheter placement and arterial blood collection, are important interventions in hospitalized patients. In this paper, the authors present a case with a distal radial artery true aneurysm after prolonged radial artery catheterization. Although treatment of aneurysm of the radial artery is still controversial, they reconstructed the excised segment with an interposition vein graft, and recommend such vessel repair to maintain patency whenever possible.
