Özet

Kalam has distinguished itself as the first founding science among the sciences of Islam that were codificated in the historical process. While various Islamic sciences and disciplines such as Ulum al-Quran and Islamic History convey information only within the framework of narrations, Kalam tries to obtain information by re-evaluating these narrations of other disciplines with rational inference and conscientious reasoning. In this respect, scholars of Kalam accepted this discipline as the most valuable of sciences and stated that it was a science that should be learned by the elite rather than the ordinary people. With the classicaldefinition, Kalam is a science that discusses the essence of the supreme creator, His attributes, the prophethood, the beginning of creation, the characteristics of death and life after death, as well as all the states of the creatures according to the Quran and Sunnah, in which the general principles of Islam are determined.While the issues of belief were determined as the aims and ways, the rational proofs, which are called the instrumentalities, have been used by the 172

theologians in this science in order to explain these issues and to reveal their intelligibility.
