Background: Communication technologies have become a part of daily life for the increasing number of internet users in the world. Many studies have stated that online communication and social media impose digital stress on people. However, there is no Turkish measurement tool that can measure this in children aged 10-18. Aim: The purpose of evaluating the suitability of the Turkish form of the “Multidimensional Digital Stress Scale” for middle school and high school students (10-18 years old) and conducting a validity and reliability study. Since there is no measurement tool that evaluates the digital stress of children aged 10-18, it can also be used in our country. Methods: This descriptive study was completed between March and April 2025 with 326 students aged 10-18, studying in secondary schools in Türkiye. The data were collected face to face with the "Multidimensional Digital Stress Scale" and the "Digital Addiction Scale for Adolescents". The data of the study are presented with number and percentage distributions, mean-standard deviation. After the language validity and content validity of the data, confirmatory factor and explanatory factor analysis are performed. Croncbach Alpha coefficient was calculated for the total reliability of the scale. The margin of error (error) was taken as p=0.05 in the evaluation of the data. Results: The obtained results show that the model consisting of a single factor and 24 items, which is similar to the original factor structure, has values indicating good fit. According to the equivalent scale validity results, it was observed that there were significant relationships between the total scores of the “Multidimensional Digital Stress Scale” and the “Digital Addiction Scale for Adolescents”. The Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient of the Multidimensional Digital Stress Scale was determined as 0.91. The item-total correlations of the scale are between 0.72 and 0.92. Discussion and Conclusion: The analysis results conducted within the scope of the study determined that the “Multidimensional Digital Stress Scale” is a valid and reliable measurement tool that can be used to measure digital stress in children aged 10-18 in our country.
Giriş: İletişim teknolojileri, dünya üzerinde artış gösteren internet kullanıcıları için gündelik hayatın bir parçası haline gelmiştir. Pek çok araştırma, çevrimiçi iletişim ve sosyal medyanın insanlara dijital stres yüklediğini belirtmiştir. Ancak 10-18 yaş grubu çocuklarda bunu ölçecek Türkçe bir ölçüm aracına rastlanmamaktadır. Amaç: “Çok Boyutlu Dijital Stres Ölçeği”nin Türkçe formunun ortaokul ve lise öğrencilerine (10-18 yaş) yönelik uygunluğunun değerlendirilerek, geçerlik ve güvenirlik çalışmasının yapılmasıdır. 10-18 yaş arası çocukların dijital streslerinin değerlendirildiği bir ölçüm aracının bulunmaması nedeniyle ülkemizde de kullanılabilecektir. Method: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu araştırma, Türkiye'de ortaokullarda eğitim alan, 10-18 yaş grubunda 326 öğrenci ile Mart-Nisan 2025 tarihleri arasında tamamlandı. Veriler “Çok Boyutlu Dijital Stres Ölçeği” ve “Ergenler İçin Dijital Bağımlılık Ölçeği” ile yüzyüze olarak toplandı. Araştırmanın verileri, sayı ve yüzde dağılımları, ortalama-standart sapma ile sunulmuştur. Verilerin dil geçerliliği ve kapsam geçerliliğinin ardından doğrulayıcı faktör ve açıklayıcı faktör analizi yapılmaktadır. Ölçeğin toplam güvenirliği için Croncbach Alpha katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde hata (yanılma) payı p=0.05 olarak alınmıştır. Bulgular: Elde edilen sonuçlar, orijinal faktör yapısıyla benzeşecek şekilde tek faktör ve 24 maddeden oluşan modelin iyi uyuma işaret eden değerlere sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Eşdeğer ölçek geçerliği sonuçlarına göre ise “Çok Boyutlu Dijital Stres Ölçeği” ile “Ergenler için Dijital Bağımlılık Ölçeği” toplam puanları arasında anlamlı ilişkiler olduğu görülmüştür. Çok Boyutlu Dijital Stres Ölçeği’nin Cronbach alfa güvenirlik katsayısı 0.91, olarak belirlenmiştir. Ölçeğin madde-toplam korelasyonları ise 0.72 ile 0.92 arasındadır. Tartışma ve Sonuç: Çalışma kapsamında yapılan analiz sonuçları “Çok Boyutlu Dijital Stres Ölçeği”nin, ülkemizde 10-18 yaş grubu çocuklarda dijital stresi ölçmede kullanılabilecek geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçüm aracı olduğu belirlenmiştir.
