Özet
Purpose To synthesize qualitative evidence on how healthcare professionals working in surgical and perioperative care experience environmental sustainability. Design A meta-synthesis guided by the JBI methodology. Methods A systematic search was conducted in MEDLINE, Academic Search Ultimate, Complementary Index, QAIster, Science Direct, and Web of Science. Qualitative studies examining environmental sustainability experiences of healthcare professionals in surgical and perioperative settings were included. Methodological quality was appraised using the JBI Qualitative Assessment and Review Instrument. Data were synthesized following Sandelowski and Barroso’s meta-synthesis approach (PROSPERO:CRD42021252129). Findings Ten qualitative studies from six countries involving 191 healthcare professionals were included. Four themes emerged: Understanding Environmental Sustainability, The Erosion of Sustainability Under the Pressures of Routine Clinical Practice, Who Holds Responsibility and Authority? Power, Roles, and Culture, and Foundations of Sustainable Practices: Awareness, Incentives, and Team Alignment. Conclusions Strengthening environmental sustainability in perioperative care requires education, institutional support, interprofessional collaboration, and active staff participation in decision-making.
