Abstract

Biogas technology enables the processing of environmentally problematic wastes, renders them harmless and can be used in obtaining energy, is all important factor for renewable energy production. Although biogas, which is known as energy production method in the society, has an organic waste potential that can be evaluated in Turkey, it cannot be evaluated properly. Given the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change data, scientists estimate that global warming has caused a huge impact on health, environment and economy in the present century. In this sense, it is very important to analyze biogas-related data for certain regions. In this study, the potential of biogas production from cattle, small ruminants and poultry manure obtained from 2018 TUIK data of Mugla, Turkey was analyzed on a spatial basis. In addition, the equivalent values in terms of electricity, heat and coal obtained from biogas potential were obtained.
