The aim of this research is to determined the effective temperatures using the inside temperature and inner surface temperature of building elements (south roof, north roof, east wall, west wall, north wall and south wall). The study was conductud in the summer and winter seasons. Indoor temperature was measured by thermohigrograph and, inner surface temperatures of building elements were measured at the 07.00, 14.00 and 21.00 hours by temperature meter. In this research, there was found no significant differences between the effective temperature and indoor temperature in winter season, but significant differences was determined between the effective temperature and inner surface temperature of building elements. Effective temperature, indoor temperatures and inner surface temperature of building elements were determined as 11.97?0.1750C, 11.66?0.187 0C ve 12.88?0.1540C, respectively in winter season. Also in summer season, determined as 28.82?0.2820C, 28.57?0.2980C ve 29.57?0.2600C, the same order. As a result, indoor temperature should be used for determining the bioclimatic comfort zone in the insulated hen houses. But uninsulated hen houses, effective temperature should be used in addition to the indoor temperature.
