Abstract

A greenhouse experiment was conducted to determine the effects of urban sewage sludge that is applied to soil, on the plant nutrients and heavy metal contents in the fruits and the leaves in cucumber. In the applications of sewage sludge, higher mineral contents and heavy metal accumulation were determined both in the fruits and the leaves. The mineral contents such as N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Na, Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni, and Cd were increased, but no changes was determined in Cr content.
