The main objective of our study is to identify words beginning with the /t-/ sound in the Divanü Lûgati’t-Türk by searching for them in the vocabularies of Modern Uyghur Turkish and Western Turkish. For this purpose, the vocabulary of the Divanü Lûgati’t-Türk, written in the 11th century, that begin with the /t-/ sound has been examined in selected sources. In the analysis section of our study, the reflections of the examined words in Modern Uyghur Turkish and Western Turkish have been determined. The vocabulary of Modern Uyghur Turkish, for which equivalents were found in the examined sources, has been compared with common words found in Western Turkish dictionaries to arrive at the basic vocabulary of Eastern and Western Turkish that begin with the /t-/ sound.

Çalışmamızın temel amacı, Divânü Lûgati’t-Türk’te /t-/ sesi ile başlayan sözcükleri Çağdaş Uygur Türkçesinin ve Batı Türkçesinin söz varlığında arayarak tespitini yapmaktır. Bu amaçla 11. yüzyılda yazılan Divânü Lûgati’t-Türk’ün söz varlığının /t-/ sesi ile başlayan sözcükleri belirlenen kaynaklarda taranmıştır. Çalışmamızın inceleme bölümünde taranan sözcüklerin Çağdaş Uygur Türkçesi ile Batı Türkçesine yansımaları tespit edilmiştir. Taranan kaynaklarda karşılığı bulunan Çağdaş Uygur Türkçesinin söz varlığı Batı Türkçesinin sözlüklerinden taranan ortak sözcüklerle karşılaştırılarak Doğu ve Batı Türkçesinin /t-/ sesi ile başlayan temel söz varlığına ulaşılmıştır.
