Abstract
here are some scientific studies on the use of expanded perlite in the mixture for different purposes in construction materials. Lightweight composite materials could be obtained by using expanded perlite instead of aggregate, or it could be used in conventional composite materials by the replacement of the binder. In this study, the use of expanded perlite as an aggregate in the composite materials was investigated. Furthermore, the mechanical properties of these materials were determined. The main purpose of this study is to detect the relationship of the design of the composite mixtures with the mechanical properties.
