Özet

The effect of the communication style of schools’ managers on the perception of compulsory citizenship behavior of teachers has been investigated in this study. The data was collected by convenience sampling method from 251 teachers working at the secondary school. To collect the data, the managers’ telling and consulting communication style scale and compulsory citizenship behavior scale was used. Confirmatory factor analysis and Cronbach alpha coefficient were used to check the validity and reliability of the scales, respectively. The regression and correlation analyses were performed to test the hypotheses. According to the results, the managers’ telling communication style had a positive and significant effect on compulsory citizenship behavior of teachers, besides the managers’ consulting communication style had a negative and significant effect on compulsory citizenship behavior of teachers.
