Introduction: Development of technology and in the light of scientific advances are so important about following and using technology in the field of nursing because of high expectation of health services quality and triying to make high level students’ skills. This developments in science and technology makes necessary to using technology in nursing education and practise for redound students’ competence. In recent years, virtual reality and augmented reality technology and methods such as virtual environment simulators, videos, educational games, mobil applications which can able to work with integrated these technologies becoming so popular and started to using it give nursing students a conducive environment to develop decision-making, crisis management, and psychomotor skills. Because of this changing in education students can try much times until get the skills, learn and see their practices outcomes without hurt anybody.  Considering all these, it is seen that nursing education and technology should progress in the same direction. Today it isn’t possible to consider technology independent of nursing education.

Aim: The aim of this study is to reveal the reflections of technological developments on nursing education.

Results: In the information obtained as a result of the literature review, 3 different studies were examined in which students' views on simulation applications were discussed. In a study (n=115), it was determined that students' both learning satisfaction and self-confidence in learning increased compared to the traditional system. In the other study (n=88), he stated that simulation training contributed to the professional skills of the students and enabled the theoretical knowledge to turn into practical knowledge. In addition, it has been determined that it reduces the excitement and stress of the students and increases their self-confidence. In the other study (n=130), it was determined that the teaching methods used in simulation were useful and effective. In 2 studies (n=291) in which virtual environment simulators were used, it was seen that the virtual simulator-based learning technique increased the knowledge, skill and performance levels of the students and reduced the learning cognitive load by giving a sense of reality. In a study (n=71) in which mobile videos were applied, it was observed that the students' motivation for learning was high and they practiced in a more controlled manner in the urinary catheterization procedure. In a study using educational games (n=30), it was observed that playing games contributed to the development of moral sensitivity by making nursing students more sensitive  to ethical issues in the clinic. In 3 studies (n=379) in which mobile applications were used, it was observed that mobile applications improved clinical reasoning, self-learning and increased knowledge levels in nursing students.

Conclusion: It is necessary to keep up with the developing technology and innovations in nursing education. In recent years, it is seen that educational methods applied with technological methods have made a significant contribution to the development of students. The development of such programs that provide interactive education will enable to train well-equipped health professionals, ensure patient safety and increase the quality of care.
