Özet

Ahmedi is one of the most important representative of Ottoman thought both in poetical and philosophical in 15th century. His capability contains many fields which are history, literature, medicine, linguistics etc. His most known work is The Book of Alexander (Iskendername) and it is a prototype in Turkish literature. It involves unique sections that we never seen before in this tradition such as mawlid and history of Ottoman. Another unique section is named Iskiyyat-i Iskender. It is a tale which is told love of Alexander and Gulshah. Alexander the Great, well-known commander who has left a great impact on different cultures, is the subject of this tale. The tale is totally a new section never written before in history of Iskendername and it is not to be found in the Persian prototypes of the work. While Ahmedi tells the love of Alexander and Gulshah, he also mention about other remarkable love stories such as Layla and Majnun, Farhad and Shirin etc. These works had been very effective on authors up to Ahmedi since they were written.
