Abstract

The normal state properties of Y1-xCaxBa2Cu3Oy have been investigated for 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1.0. The samples revealed the normal state temperature slope of undoped samples over a wide compositional range. It is discussed that the electrical conduction takes place through conducting channels above the solubility limits and the semiconductivity should appear slightly above the percolation threshold. Intergrain regions repaired by excess Ca were argued to be responsible for the retained normal state temperature dependence of Y1-xCaxBa2Cu3Oy up to x = 0.8. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
