We present a dual-wideband monopole antenna for WLAN applications. The antenna is fed by a coplanar waveguide transmission line and consists of a concentric split-ring structure as the radiating element. Measured results show that the proposed design exhibits an impedance bandwidth covering 2.40-2.68 GHz and 3.85-6.95 GHz. In addition, the antenna pattern is well-behaved in both E- and H-planes. Comparison of simulated and measured results of return losses, radiation patterns, and gains of the antenna are provided. (c) 2013 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Microwave Opt Technol Lett 55:2088-2092, 2013
