Osteopetrozis, bozulmuş osteoklastların neden olduğu kalıtımsal birkemik hastalığıdır. Bu nedenle son derece seyrek ve teşhis edilmesi zorolan bu hastalık günümüzde kemik iliği transplantasyonuyla sağaltılabilmektedir. Oldukça ender görülen bu çalışmada, hastaneye beslenme sorunu, huzursuzluk ve sarılık yakınması ile başvuran 38 günlük osteopetrozis olgusu ilgili kaynaklar eşliğinde sunulmuş ve hemşirelikbakımındaki yenilikleri irdelenmiştir. Olguda osteopetrozis ve trombositopeni birlikte görülmesinin yanı sıra yoğun ve dikkatli hemşirelikbakımı gerektirmesi nedeniyle olgunun Kuzey Amerika HemşirelikTanıları Birliği’ne [North American Nursing Diagnosis AssociationInternational (NANDA-I)] göre, hemşirelik bakım planı kapsamındasunumu amaçlanmıştır. Bu olguda, komplikasyonların multidisiplinerbir yaklaşım ile gözlemlenmesi ve semptomların yönetimi amaçlanmaktadır. Hemşireler, semptomların yönetiminde bu multidisiplinerekibin merkezinde yer alır.
Osteopetrosis is a hereditary bone disease caused by impaired osteoclasts. For this reason, this disease, which is extremely rare and difficult to diagnose, can now be treated by bone marrow transplantation. In this very rare study, a case of a 38-day-old newborn presenting to the hospital with complaints of nutrition, restlessness, and jaundice is examined in the context of related resources and their innovations in nursing care. Because of the occurrence of osteopetrosis and thrombocytopenia as well as the necessity of intensive and careful nursing care in this case, this paper aims to present the case within the scope of the nursing care plan based on the North American Nursing Diagnosis Association (NANDA-I). In this case, a multidisciplinary approach to the complications aims to monitor and manage the symptoms. Nurses are at the center of this multidisciplinary team in managing these symptoms.
