Özet:

The objectives of this study are; to analyze the current status of hiking activities which are performed for tourism and recreation, to determine the hikers' expectation and preference from hiking activities, to determine ideal hiking tracks for tourism in Antalya, and to make suggestions to use hiking tracks for tourism and recreation in the direction of user expectations. For that purpose, the questioner was applied to the authorized persons of travel agencies and clubs which organize hiking tours, and semi-structured interviews were made with core group. And also determined sample hiking tracks were marked with GPS (Global Positioning system) device and transfered to the digital map. Qualitative methods were used to in order to analyze the open-ended questions in Semi-structured interviews and questionnaires results of participant, and SPSS 18 (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) software was used to analyze the survey results. Descriptive statistics were used as Frequency (f), Percent / proportion (%), mean ( ) and standart deviation (Ss) for evaluation of data. Significant relations are observed as a result of pairwise comparison of variables chi-square (Pearson's Chi-Square) value in the level of p <0.05. As a result, the current status of hiking activities/events, the problems facing these activities/events, hikers' preferences and heavily used hiking trails in Antalya have been identified. It is observed that problems often arise from the current status regarding hiking activities. These problems have been identified analogous to problems in the general tourism. The most important problem facing hiking activities / events is that there is not system that controls and manages. Therefore, the development of a management system related to trekking activities can make these activities more sustainable. The track editing work done so far is mostly supply-driven. Therefore, in the study, individuals who participate in hiking, and trail preferences for these activities is determined. Hikers often consider arrangements for this event. In addition, the demographic characteristics of hikers and hiking experience are differentiation of individual preferences of the trails. Therefore, the preferences of the individuals involved hiking is recommended to be taken into consideration while the arrangements work.
