© 2015, Gunes Kitap Kirtasiye. All rights reserved.Aim: To analyse transitional cell tumors which are the rare tumors of the ovary according to their clinical and pathological features. Method: Eighteen patients with the diagnosis of ovarian transitional cell tumors were identified between 2005 and 2014. Patients were analysed through patients file and computerized data system retrospectively. Results: Fourteen of the eighteen patients (71,5%) were benign brenner tumor (BT), one patient was malign brenner tumor and three patients were transitionel cell tumor of the ovary. 64% (9/14) of the patients with benign hystology and 75% (3/4) of the patients with malign hystology were postmenauposal. 78,5% (11/14) of the patients with benign brenner tumor, detected incidentally during an operation or hystologic examination. Only 3 of the 14 patients (21.5%) presented with an adnexial mass preoperatively. Conclusion: Frequently benign forms of these uncommon tumors were encountered incidentally and malign forms typically presents with symptoms of classical epithelial ovarian carcinoma.
