Özet

Over the past four decades natural radiation exposure due to Radon-222 and its decay products inside houses has been regonized as a worldwide problem. Indoor Radon-222 concentration levels have been measured in Ordu-Turkey dwellings using CR-39 passive alpha track detectors during the period December 2005-February 2006. None of the 49 houses in the city had air concentration of Radon exceeding the annual action level set by Turkish Atomic Energy Authority (400 Bqm-3). Age of building materials, ventilation conditions of the dwellings, number of stages and building materials weree collected through questionnaires. These different sources to indoor radon concentration were discussed.
