The region TR3 is the region where the highest agricultural production took place in Turkey. It may be said that the subsidies granted to the agricultural sector through agricultural policy instruments have significantly contributed to this because it is the region that receives the highest amount of agricultural subsidy, following the region TRC. The region TR3 is followed by the regions TR7, TR5 and TRC in terms of agricultural production. The subsidies received by the regions TR9 and TRC and their implications in crop production can be conspicuously seen in some years. As hazelnut and tea are produced in the region TR9 and cotton, as a strategic product, is produced in the region TRC, the effect of subsidies can be directly observed. The subsidies granted to livestock breeders rose until 2013 and reached its maximum level. When the subsidies diminished after 2013, the livestock production dropped as well. As to the livestock production performance of the regions, the region TRC had the best performance among all regions, with a panel index value of 128 in 2013 and 125 in 2014. In other words, it had a livestock production value that was 25% higher than the other regions in the last year. Panel index values of livestock production in the regions TR5, TR6, TRA and TR7 in the last period are above 100.
